Our Surgical Capabilities

What We Treat & Fix

Wisdom Tooth Extraction Abu Dhabi

Simple and complex wisdom tooth extraction — including impacted wisdom tooth removal for angled or deeply embedded teeth. CBCT imaging ensures the safest surgical approach, especially near nerve canals.

Bone Grafting

Where bone volume is insufficient for implants, bone grafting rebuilds the jaw. We use autogenous, xenograft, and synthetic grafting materials depending on your specific case.

Sinus Lift

When upper jaw bone is too thin for implants, a sinus augmentation adds bone height in the posterior maxilla. Both lateral window and crestal approaches are performed at our clinic.

Exposure of Impacted Teeth

Impacted canines or other unerupted teeth are surgically exposed to allow orthodontic guidance into the correct position.

Surgical Extractions

Retained roots, fractured teeth, teeth with curved roots, or those near critical anatomy require surgical extraction Abu Dhabi — performed under full anaesthesia control by our specialist oral surgeon.

Full-Arch Surgery (All-on-X)

Full mouth reconstruction combining multiple extractions, bone management, and immediate implant placement for complete arch rehabilitation in a single surgical session.

7

Healing assessment and suture removal appointment to monitor recovery and ensure optimal outcomes from your surgical procedure.

Anxiety-Free Surgery

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide (N₂O), commonly known as laughing gas, is one of the safest and most widely used sedation methods in dentistry. Administered through a small nasal mask, it produces a calming, euphoric sensation that significantly reduces anxiety and discomfort during surgical procedures.

How it works: The patient breathes a carefully controlled mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen. Within 2–3 minutes, a warm, relaxed feeling sets in. The patient remains fully conscious and responsive throughout the procedure but feels deeply calm and detached from discomfort.

Key advantages: Unlike IV sedation or general anesthesia, nitrous oxide wears off within 3–5 minutes after the mask is removed. Patients can drive themselves home and resume normal activities immediately. There is no prolonged drowsiness, no fasting requirement, and the sedation depth can be adjusted in real time by the surgeon.

Ideal for: Patients with dental anxiety or phobia, complex or lengthy procedures such as wisdom tooth extraction, sinus lifts, bone grafting, and patients with a strong gag reflex.

Why We Use N₂O

Proven safety record — used in dentistry for over 150 years

Takes effect within 2–3 minutes, wears off in 3–5 minutes

Patient stays conscious and responsive throughout

No fasting required, no IV needles, drive home immediately

Sedation depth adjustable in real time by the surgeon

Safe for children, adults, and elderly patients

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is oral surgery painful?
Surgery is performed under local anaesthesia — you feel no pain during the procedure. Mild soreness for 2–5 days afterward is normal and managed with prescribed medication. Dr. Hussien's minimally invasive techniques reduce post-operative discomfort significantly compared to conventional approaches.
How long does recovery take after oral surgery?
Recovery depends on the procedure. Simple extractions: 1–3 days. Wisdom teeth removal: 3–5 days. Bone grafting: 7–14 days of reduced activity. Sinus lift: 10–14 days. Most patients return to desk work within 1–2 days and strenuous activity after 7–10 days. Specific instructions are given for every procedure.
When can I get an implant after bone grafting?
After bone grafting, a healing period of 4–6 months is typically required before implant placement — allowing the graft to integrate fully with the existing bone. In some cases, simultaneous grafting and implant placement is possible. Dr. Hussien determines the optimal sequence based on your CBCT imaging.
Do I need a referral for oral surgery in Abu Dhabi?
No referral is needed. You can book directly with our clinic. Dr. Hussien's team will review your history, take a CBCT scan, and determine the most appropriate treatment approach at your first consultation.
What is the STA system?
STA (Single Tooth Anaesthesia) is a computer-controlled local anaesthesia delivery system. It administers the anaesthetic at a precise, controlled flow rate — significantly reducing injection discomfort compared to conventional syringes. Most patients describe the experience as a gentle pressure rather than a sting.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked
Questions

Is wisdom tooth extraction in Abu Dhabi painful?
With STA digital anesthesia and optional Nitrous Oxide sedation, the procedure is virtually painless. Dr. Hussien's 35+ years of experience ensures minimal trauma and faster recovery.
How long is recovery after oral surgery?
Most patients recover within 3-5 days for simple extractions. Complex surgeries like bone grafting may take 1-2 weeks. We provide detailed post-operative care instructions.
What is bone grafting?
Bone grafting adds bone material to areas with insufficient bone volume, often needed before dental implant placement. The graft integrates naturally over 3-6 months.
What is a sinus lift?
A sinus lift raises the sinus floor to create space for dental implants in the upper jaw. It's performed when there isn't enough bone height due to the sinus proximity.
When should I see an oral surgeon in Abu Dhabi vs a general dentist?
See an oral surgeon for impacted wisdom teeth, complex extractions, bone grafting, sinus lifts, jaw cysts, and pre-implant surgery. Dr. Hussien handles all surgical cases at Vision Dental.
